Apaco systems are designed for years of trouble-free operation. In order to meet the constantly growing needs of our customers, our company has been certified according to the international ISO 9001:2015 standard. This certification spans the entire company’s activities, from planning to service. Our systems carry certifications and welding certificates from globally recognised inspection authorities. We have developed our own manufacturing and testing procedures for parts subjected to particularly high stress situations. In addition to this, we maintain a constructive partnership with our clients. Customer-orientation is a priority for us and is evident in our long-term service support, for example.
The Heatec department, formerly known as Bertrams Heatec, with its experienced employees acts as an EPC contractor and supplies system components and complete solutions for indirect process heating using fired boiler systems. Most of the individual components are manufactured by our long-standing external partners, but some individual components are also manufactured in our own workshops in Grellingen. The commissioning of our systems is always carried out by our own personnel, no matter where in the world it might be. Aside from new systems, we also provide customer service including the provision of original spare parts, modernisations and/or conversions of old systems.
Our employees in the Heatec department have been planning and building custom-made heat transfer plants for the chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries for decades. The technical expertise acquired over many years as well as employees motivated to perform at their best ensure the highest quality and reliability for our customers.
Many chemical and process engineering processes are dependent on a supply of heat or cold. That is why Apaco’s heat transfer systems are so important in the production of synthetic fibres, synthetic resins (melamine), caustic soda, aluminium, paint, food and textiles.
Thanks to our many years of experience, we are not just specialists in heat transfer, but also the market leader in this area. We offer all components and services in a one-stop shop. From planning and production to installation, commissioning and follow-up customer support. Each of our systems is tailored to the customer’s needs, with standardised components being used as much as possible. These are ideal conditions for maximum operational safety and user-friendliness. All requirements are met optimally, including from an economic and ecological perspective.
Depending on the requirements, different media can be used as heat carriers. They are brought to the desired temperature inside the heater. The respective temperature ranges are important criteria when designing a heat transfer system.
With organic media, mineral oils and synthetic oils are in the middle of the heat transfer. Whether in the liquid or vapour phase (flash system or secondary evaporator), these media offer an ideal basis for heat utilisation in all kinds of production processes in any case.
Apaco can meet a wide variety of heat transfer requirements. The output spectrum ranges from 100 kW to approx. 45 MW per heater. A higher output is achieved by interconnecting several units.
A heat transfer system with a liquid heat transfer oil can allow the integration of one or more secondary circuits with differentiated temperature regulation, if necessary. The temperature of synthetic heat transfer oils can go up to 410°C.
Process heating with heat carriers in the vapour phase (flash system or secondary evaporator) enables the even distribution of constant heat to multiple consumers.
Temperature ranges from -50°C to 410°C
Wide output range up to 45 MW per heater
No heat reflection due to little brickwork
Optimum heat distribution due to three-pass design
Different designs possible (fired from above or below, horizontal and inline)
 Heaters are delivered fully assembled
Can be used in different industrial areas
Over 60 years of experience in the construction of heat transfer systems
With temperatures of up to 630°C, melted salt as a heat transfer medium is suitable for heat transfer in a great variety of chemical processes. However, the focus is on applications at high temperatures, for example in the production of melamine or highly concentrated sodium hydroxide solution. Salt mixtures with a high melting point are used. They are liquid under operating conditions and are operated without pressure.
Heat range usable up to 630°C
Wide output range up to 45 MW per heater
 Safety due to self-draining
No heat reflection due to little brickwork
Optimum heat distribution due to three-pass design
Different designs possible (fired from above or below and inline)
 Heaters are delivered fully assembled
